I was one of the people at the beginning of the month that said I was not very creative. I have never been an artist or great musician. I did play the flute and piano for a few years, but nothing special. I have always looked at my friends in our required art class in school and wished I had the natural talent they had. One way that I am creative is in dance. I love to dance and have done it since I was a child. I was in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop classes, but stopped when all my friends started playing sports at school and I wanted to also. Soon, I forgot entirely about dance and spent all my time in sports like volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading and I had the time of my life! I alway missed dancing though. I finally found a way to get a little bit of my dancing fun back in my high school church choir. We put on musical show performances all throughout the year to raise money for the mission trips we go on in the summer. The dancing is what first enticed me to join the choir, but then I loved all the mission work we do too. The dancing we do is not simple gospel dancing that you would think of a normal choir, but we do secular and hip hop moves that is really fun and allows me to get my ‘dance fix’ as you would call it, from time to time. All of the costumes, practices, dead-lines, and long performance hours has been time consuming, but it has allowed me to express myself.
