Blog 11: Soundtrack of My Life
Open Credit: Kryptonite- 3 Doors Down: Every time I hear this song I think of the old tv show Smallville because it be one of the theme songs.
Wake up: The Valley- Lindsey Kane: I met the women who sang this song at a girl’s church retreat at a lake house. She sang many of her songs by a bonfire for us.
First Day of School: Everywhere- Michelle Branch: I love Michelle Branch’s music and I always encourages me when I’m down for gives me a feeling of empowerment.
Falling in Love: 100 Years- Five for Fighting: This song has always be really soothing for me.
Fight Song: Stronger- Kayne West: This was my favorite song when it first came out. I would always set it to be the first song I heard from my ipod radio when I woke up. It reminded me that bad things that happen to you make you stronger.
Prom: Savior King- Jeffrey B. Scott: I met this artist at a church beach camp when I was in the 6th or 7th grade at Gulf Shores, AL. All of my friends and I loved jumping up and down to his music.
Life: Ridin’- Chamillionaire: This is a song that my friends and I used to turn on every time we were in the car. It made us feel really cool to think we were ‘gangster’ haha.
Mental Breakdown: What a Girl Wants: Christina Aguilera: When I was in elementary school my girl friends and I would listen to all of the Britteny Spears, Jessica Simpson, and Christina Aguilera songs and pretend that we were movie starts.
Driving: Satisfied-Ashley Monroe: This song was a free download from iTunes but I ended up really liking it. It’s kind of a sad song but really inspiring.
Flashback: I Drive Myself Crazy- N Sync: I know ever word to the N Sync and Backstreet songs because in elementary school we would listen to their songs every morning on the way to school in carpool. This is when songs were still on cassettes.
Wedding: Everything In Its Place- Jack Johnson: This reminds me of my ex-boyfriends because this was his favorite artist and he would play some of the songs on his guitar for me.
Birth of Child: Run Away- Real McCoy: This is one of my moms favorite songs and she is always telling me stories of how she and my dad would go out and dance to this song.
Final Battle: Declaration- Steven Curtis Chapman: In the 5th grade, one of my girl friends, who became my best friend, introduced me to this artist. A few years later I ended up having to learn a dance to one of his songs.
Death Scene: Salt Shaker-Ying Yang Twins: This was a really popular song when I was in middle school. All my friends and I would get really excited when it would play at a school dance.
Funeral Song: Love Song- Spice Girls: This was one of the best girls groups of my time as a child. I remember watching their movie a million times.
End Credits: Hear Me- Kelley Clarkson: I like to listen to this song when I’m down because the beat makes me feel empowered. There are many other amazing songs that Kelley Sings!
